HHG2500 into Bridge Mode so I can use my WRT1900ACS

Hi

As per the title, how do I put my Vodafone supplied modem into bridge mode so I can plug in my own router?

As there's no additional LAN port like with the Sky or BT modems I'm assuming this isn't even possible, in which case, how do I set this up using a LAN cable between the Linksys Router and the Vodafone modem?

Thanks in advance

Dan

In short, you can't.  There's no specific bridge mode for the router.  The closest you can get is to turn off the wifi and DHCP and enable these on your own router, then connect the two via LAN ports.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I expected as such, and so I have removed DHCP from the Vodafone router and plugged the Linksys into LAN port 1.

The problem (whether it's a problem or not I am not yet sure) is, the Vodafone router runs on IP range 192.168.1.x, but my Linksys is running on IP range 10.x.x.x which I'm sure means there's an issue somewhere?

Whilst I do have full network connectivity around the house, including WeMo, Philips Hue, all smart devices, laptops etc etc, I can't get over the fact I am running on an IP range that shouldn't be possible considering I've fixed the IP address for the Linksys at 192.168.1.2 in the Vodafone router.

I am currently a few days away from returning the Linksys to Amazon and getting a VDSL/Router combo instead, but after the hassle I've had with a D7800, I am worried I am going to end up stuck with the ISP modem.
