Having trouble sending text messages to other vodafone users..

the last 3 weeks or so, im having to send text messages 2, 3 or even 4 time sbefore they are delivered and only seems to be to other vodafomne phones/accounts..

got cut off on live chat about 10 mins ago

Hey @spazzareth

 

 

Usually rebooting the phone by turning it Off and On can help. 

 

This maybe Mast Congestion which is where lots of people access the masts at approximately the same time. 

 

Can you please try if possible your Sim Card in another phone and send a text as a process of elimination to rule out the phone or sim card that may be at fault.

 

Try another Sim in your phone.

 

If necessary any Vodafone Shop can replace the Sim Card via a Sim Swap.

Hi @spazzareth

 

If your messages are leaving the network and being delivered to the messaging centre for forwarding onto the recipient, it will be a problem at the receiving end.  It may just be concidence that the messages are sent to Vodafone numbers.

 

It might be an idea to check with the recipients that they are in a location where there is reasonable reception.  It may be that the messages are not received until they are in an alternative location.

 

 

it takes 10-20 mins for the message to be returned and it is only vodafone users.

everyone else recicves the messages on other networks

@spazzareth - So we can look into this further, please can you let us know:

 

  • Are you able to make and receive calls OK?
  • Can the recipients send texts to you with no problem?
  • Does this happen in one location or multiple?
  • Are the recipients number prefix’s the same (all starting ‘07981’ for example)?
