Hi

i have a windows Vista basic E-systems laptop, and are having a mega problem installing my k3765 modem onto it, it says it finds the network but when i click connect it says error code "RAS 608",
see detailed below:-

Mobile connection not possible.

- Set your current mobile device as the default
device in the 'Manage Devices' view
- Ensure that no other programs are using your
mobile device and try again in a short while
- Delete the device in the 'Manage Devices' view,
add it back again, and then try connecting.

If this error persists, please contact Support
at your mobile network operator.

Support information:
RAS error code 608

i have restored the computer back to factory settings so no programs are on the laptop to conflict against vodafone software. The modem works on another machine fine, have have spoken to tech help through customer services who had me removing the modems and settings several times.

can anyone help????

Hi Landy79,

The error code 608 means "Device does not exist", which suggests that Windows is not pointing to the modem correctly.

To resolve this, please close down Vodafone Mobile Connect completely, and navigate to the "Phone and Modem Options" section of Control Panel.

Click on the Modems tab, and remove all modems listed.

Next, go to Manage Network Connections from the Control Panel, and delete the VMC dial-up connection.

Now reboot, and re-connect the modem. It should now install correctly and the connection will start to work :)

I trust this helps, and if you have a spare moment, please take some time to fill in a short survey about your forum experience today.

Hi landy79

Thanks for coming back to us here.

Can you tell us exactly what is happening now? Do you get the same error or a different on?

Have you tried all of the USB slots on your computer?

Please let us know and we'll be happy to help you further with this.

Thanks

Wayne
