How do I know if my iPhone 4 is locked to vodafone?

I bought the phone secondhand on pay as you go. Now wanting to sell on but cannot remember if it was locked to Vodafone or not- is there a way of finding out? Do not have any SIM cards from other networks so cannot try the obvious unfortunately.

Hi there

The only iPhones that aren't locked are those bought directly from Apple themselves without any contract.  You could always try Apple and they will be able to confirm whether or not the device is locked. Alternatively, get a friend's non Vodafone SIM card and try it in the phone.  You will know soon enough if it is locked or not.
