K3520-Z - I can't get the modem to work with MacBook Pro

Hello,

I have a new MacBook Pro (10.6.3) that will not recognise my Vodafone Huawei K3520-Z USB modem. The stick works perfectly with my Windows laptop.

I have installed and uninstalled the latest version of VMC for Mac a number of times but still cannot force the Mac to "see" the stick.

The SIM is a contract account (not pay as you go).

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Nick

Hi Nick,

Can you tell us exactly what happens when you try to use the modem, and how far into the process things get?

For example, is the software installation successful? Are you able to load the VMC software, but it displays an error message? Let me know exactly what steps you're following and how far you get before encountering problems, and that'll give us a better idea of what to do to resolve it :)

Hi Jon,

I've installed the latest version of VMC for Mac and then inserted the K3520-Z USB stick. The stick is not recognised - either by the VMC software, or by the Mac in general. If I open System Preferences/Network, there is no sign of a USB modem.

Upon loading the VMC software, there is an error message - relating to the Huawei driver. Would you like me to re-install and give you the exact error message?

Many thanks!

Nick

Hi Nick and thanks for the reply

An exact description of the error message would help us isolate the problem, please go ahead and do another install. It might also be a good idea to capture a screen shot of the message as soon as it appears.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Hi Reidar,

Thanks for your response. Before I uninstall and re-install, please would you give me the link to download the most recent driver/software for VMC with the Huawei K3520-Z?

Thanks.

Hi Nick Browning,

I have included a link to the Mobile Connect Software as requested.

I trust this is what is required.

Thanks

Hi David,

There appears to be no download/driver option for my Vodafone USB 3G stick - the K3520-Z?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Further to my last message, following the link you provided does not give me an option to download the VMC Dashboard in any version.

Thanks.

Nick
