Solution

K3565 Ras Error 619

Hi
I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem for someone with a brand new UK Pay As You Go K3565 USB 3G stick, and I'm stuck. (Windows XP machine)

It works fine in my own machine, but when it's set up on theirs, I always get a "RAS Error 619" when I try to connect.

I've tried the usual solutions, "Contract vs Pay as you go " setting, uninstalled and re-installed the app, but no joy. The only strange thing is, this machine was used with the 3G Vodafone service in Australia prior to coming to the UK. Its now (trying) to use a UK purchased device and service, but it has had that version of the software installed before.

Any suggestions appreciated?

Hi Iain,

Don't know if this will help but some of the instructions on this helped with the steps for trubleshooting this error on a friend's vista laptop recently. I did pull it off another post on her by one of the mods : http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?act=...ost&id=1222

Try this if you like, but i can't guarantee I'm correct with this as an absolute solution. I'm sure the mods on here are much more tech-savvy than me and can hopefully help.

Good Luck,

R

Usual advice on the error is to try sim another modem or handset? This is probably to establish if it is sim or device that is at fault.Or go to Network & Internet in Control Panel(in start menu), then set device as default connection.

Could be a temporary problem, or hardware issue.

With you mentioning the previously used Network/Device it could be that you need to disable something in the control panel on windows so it doesn't try to go for that one instead of what you are trying to use.
And never forget...what was i talking about?

Current handset : Nokia e71 running F/W 300.21.012

well that didnt work either in fact its worse - i'd already followed the guide without success and was on the phone for an hour today sent all my logs to vodafone was told to watch out for updates so this latest guide has the 3 workarounds

first workaround - still get 608 error
second workaround having input a pin it then asked for the PUK number which i dont know so i pressed cancel tried again same now in VMC it shows pin code required so cant do anything now!!
third workaround error failed to connect....
next.......this is becoming very frustrating

Hello Rojo

I'm afraid this is begining to baffle us as well, :(

Please can you try creating another Administrator profile on your computer, and installing the Modem and VMC software to see if the problem reproduces itself?

The benefit of another profile would be to introduce a clean slate and try to learn more about the source of the problem, since nothing else seems to be working.

Thanks

Reidar
