Three possibilities and possibly Huawei have Linux version of Mobile Partner

(1) manual configure of ppp
I have this working ok on Ubuntu 9.10 with Vodafone k3520 and Orange E160X. Also SMS send/receive
works from commandline or Evolution using gnokii

(2) use Network Manager
This is more problem for me than (1) and I needed to keep delete/add profile.

(3) use VMC from Betavine site
I couldn't get this working when I tried Feb 2009.

Hi dvizuka,

Unfortunately Linux is not supported for Mobile Broadband, although you may be able to get this working by using the suggestions above by bacupian. This is something that we haven’t tested ourselves and we cannot offer any technical support for this.

I would definitely recommend trying what bacupian has suggested and maybe they can offer more assistance if you do have any further issues.
