I have an LG G4 which is nearly 2 years old now, due an upgrade next month.
Recently, I've noticed it starts to overheat when I'm using data only to look at Twitter, Facebook etc and it visibly drains the battery, sometimes losing 10% for a 10 minute browse.
I've deleted and re-installed some apps, done a hard reset on the phone, but to no avail.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Iain

Hi
You could try calibrating the battery by letting it drop to around 10% and then fully charge to 100%
I find that a phone can sometimes overheat due to a rogue app or intensive use such as gaming and streaming. The face and hand heat can add to this too.
A battery does not have an infinite amount of recharge cycles so due to its age of nearly 2 years I can understand why it does not perform as well now.

Hi @iainsymac
If the phone is not quite 2 years old when it will be out of warranty, get it in quick to LG for a warranty repair. The LG G4 can overheat due to Motherboard failure which is a known issue. If you use the search forum search facility, there are some previous threads on the forum regarding this issue.
At least by going direct to LG, the phone should come back to you in good condition and serve as a spare phone when you decide to upgrade.
If you contact Vodafone, they may even be able to negotiate an early upgrade or take advantage of the flexi upgrade option. There is further information for you below.

Thanks Ann,
I've just logged on to my LG account and they only offer a 1 year parts/labour warranty :smileymad:
I'll call V/F after work and see what they can do re an early upgrade
Cheers,
Iain
