Microsd Card Not Recognised

Dear Forum

I have just purchased a USB Mobile Broadband stick along with a 4GB MicroSD Card.

I have inserted the memory in the USB stick and inserted the stick into my computer and all the appropriate software has been installed and a connection established. I noticed in my Windows explorer the Removable Disk for the MicroSD card and loaded a file, however the challenge is that I cannot use the stick with other computers in the house as everytime it wants to install the Vodafone Connect software and will not recognise the MicroSD disk. If I install the Vodafone software then the disk is recognised and I can access the files, however this is not practical as if I want to share information with friends and colleagues they do not want the Vodafone software installed.

I am using XP with service pack 2 on most of the computer and Vista on a couple.

Please can anyone help or offer some advise.

Thanks

Ben

Hi BenBulpett and welcome to the eForum

I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with this.

I can totally understand your frustration however, the USB Stick is a modem first and momery card second. The memory facility is a secondary function of the Modem. With all USB momery sticks there are items that need to be installed to allow your computer to recognise the device and know how to use it. With the USB Modem it installs these items along with the modem software. Unfortunately there is no way around this.

The Vodafone Mobile Connect software is relatively small and quick to install and should pose no problems to anybodies computers should you install and uninstall if you are sharing files with friends/colleagues.

Please let me know if you have any more questions and we'll be happy to help you further

PS, I'm not sure if you have already but take a look at our Online Billing service. It gives you the freedom to check your bills whenever you want without the need to call 191. Take a peak

Thanks
