Mobile Broadband - No expiry mobile broadband

geojay
1: Seeker
I've got a no-expiry mobile broadband dongle and it seems to have expired. I was aware of the requirement to connect regularly to the network to keep it alive and it was last connected about three months ago. I've returned from abroad, connected and nothing worked. After putting the SIM into a handset I get the Inactive SIM message which suggests it's been deleted from the network. Can you suggest why this is and what I can do about it? I assume it's no longer possible to get a no-expiry SIM? The 30 day expiry mobile broadband is pretty useless for my needs...

Thanks,
Geoff

Hi qeojay,

I think there's a confuision here on the "expiry".

The older dongles have an allowance which expires after 30 days but where the dongle itself remains active.

All PAYG phones and dongles have a separate functional "expiry", whereby if they are not used for a resonable period they will go into hibernation, and eventually will be closed down and the number recycled.

So that we can see if your number can be reactivated, please respond to the email I've sent you.
