Music plays while on a call

An interesting one, this one. If I am listening to music (e.g. Spotify) through wired earphones and the phone rings, I pick up the call and answer and then the music starts playing again. The person on the other end of the call can also hear it.

Any ideas? Is this a bug? Or a setting?

Have you tried a soft reboot by turning the phone off, remove and replace battery (handset dependant) and fired it back up ?

The other possibilities you could try are a different set of headphone and cleaning the socket (carefully!).  It almost sounds as though the connection may be faulty.
