New FTTC Broadband no connection

Hi,

I should have gone live with my connection yesterday. Came and went, old connection (Sky) long gone. My Vodafone router shows its in sync, however no connection. Router shows  "PPPoE PADI sent". No IP showing on router welcome page. Line is in sync at 7999 /1998 but I cannot get online. Phone support says a longer than 3 hour wait. Tried a web chat but your agent was obsessed with logging in remotely (read: no connection to log into). What is going on!!??
