Overcharged bill and misinformation

I have been a customer with Vodafone from the time I entered the UK in 2011 as an undergrad student. For very long I kept getting offered the opportunity to get onto a contract line as I was PAYG. I later had to conform and get a contract which I took in 2015 when I started another degree program. Early 2016 I had to travel home and I enquired in my local Vodafone shop about unlocking my phone as it was locked to the network. I did this twice! And since I had been given a phone replacement by apple at the time, the advisor told me "oh no go ahead fly off its unlocked" and reassured me plenty times. Wrong advice! It was locked! In transit my data only worked in Dubai during my connection, and throughout my entire trip to my home country I never used that particular phone as it was locked! Only to get back to England to be greeted by a 350+ bill which as a student was hefty for me! I spoke to an advisor on the phone who kindly informed me I should have been offered a travellers package, which I wasn't, but they offered to help. No help came. Next call I got I was being told nothing can be done about this bill and I have to pay it all, I pleaded my case and again, was offered help. Next time I got called I was offered to be given a reduced bill of over 100quid, that was acceptable n I was like ok. The advisor offered to sort it and call me back. Never did. Next call I received I was being told I still have to pay the full figure. Really? Come on! Bare in mind days and weeks are going by and by then my bill was well over 400 pound. I spoke to another advisor who was sympathising with me and offered to ring me back. Never did. I spoke to a new person who had no idea what's going on each time! So what do they take notes for if they miraculously disappear? I then spoke to an advisor who clearly said my billing was unfair and told me to go to my bank and cancel my direct debit with Vodafone as I could wake up unable to live any of the days to come, cool, I went and did that. She too offered to handle the case and call me back, never did. I'm sure they have all these calls on record! All of a sudden after having gone through another call if I remember correctly, no one ever bothered to contact me again! I waited and waited for this issue to get resolved and nothing happened. EIGHT MONTHS LATER they decide to switch my service off without resolving anything and started having credit control emails sent to me. That's absolutely great, I couldn't pay 3-400 pound now u say I owe you over a grand. And this whole issue has been affecting my credit to a point I can't even rent a room. Way to go Vodafone you have screwed my life without trying to even help. It was poorly handled, very unprofessional and inconsistent from all members of staff I dealt with. This all started with your store attendants failing to provide enough information to a travelling customer and has led to me failing credit checks where ever I go. Thank you
