Cell 6220 is the mast at the south end of PA31 8PT  (there is another that serves the north end, but it's 10 miles further north and behind many hills).  There were 4 men working on this mast on and off up to Wednesday 6th December - I asked what was happening and they said they had installed 4G etc and it will be working by Thursday 7th.  They spoke to a neighbour as well and said it as working. But none of us can get a signal - neither Vodafone or O2.   So that's 4 days so far without a signal, but I suspect the Vodafone think that it is all working now. How do we let tham (and O2) kn ow that it isn't OK after all?

Thanks, John.  Can you help by explaining things about the Coverage Checker page at https://www.vodafone.co.uk/explore/network/uk-coverage-map/index.htm

For my location (and miles around) the coverage checker  says  there is only weak 2G here and  “We last updated our Coverage Checker on 21st Dec 2017” and “ We're aware of some unexpected issues in your area. See our Network Status Checker for details.”  But the network status checker doesn’t know about any issues.

It also says “Sorry - there are no planned upgrades to improve coverage here for the next three months.” even though I'd had a text on 24th November saying that there will be upgrade work during the following 6 weeks, which was confirmed when I spoke to the engineers doing the work, and by a 3G signal coming on.

My question is, why is the coverage checker, nework status, planned maintenance etc so inconsistent. out of date and unhelpful?  It would save so much wasted time trying to establish what is going on if this data was kept scrupulously correct.

@dutyhog2 - It sounds like there may have been a delay and an error in it updating.

Thanks for flagging this to us.

I understand you’ve confirmed you now have signal again and our network engineers have also advised us, that your serving sites service is restored.

Thanks for your patience with this.

Hi. the issue we have is with signal strength. Don't know if what you have been doing will make a difference or not.    A year ago i bought a sure signal and it didn't work so had to return it 260ml round trip.  I then after looking into it a bit more got in touch with a guy from vodafone by e mail who thought it should work, so i got an other sure signal he helped me set it up and was really helpfull in explaining it all to me as i'm not a techy.  I had explained i had satelite internet as we have no landline.  He could see a signal coming through but thought it was being blocked. So i contacted my ISP who were going look into it , they said it wouldn't work .Then the communication between us suddenly stopped, i decided there must have been a commercial reson for not wanting it work and again returned the sure signal another long trip.  My post code  PA31 8PT

So the question is how when i now use my phone and whats app i can make call over the internet but not with vodafone. My phone apparently will not do wifi calling.    kind regards
