My Sure Signal V1 has been registered to my work mobile for a number of happy years now.
Recently my work mobile was changed.
As part of the upgrade I had to have a new SIM.
Soon after, I noticed that my Sure Signal didn't seem to be working.
So I then spent the next 2 weeks trawling the forums for the usual solutions.
Been round and round with port forwarding, DMZ, Static IP's, new cables, changing power supplies etc etc etc.
Nothing solved the standard problem of only having lights one and two illuminated with the occasional short flash of light 4.
Then just as I was about to throw my Sure Signal V1 in the bin I found a forum thread that suggested that the SIM card change was the source of the problem and that I should de-register and then re-register the Sure Signal.
So the other night I de-registered my Sure Signal.
I then re-registered it to my personal mobile rather than my works mobile.
Re-set the Sure Signal and went to bed.
And now 2 days later.......still the same old 2 lights and still no 4th light......!!!!!
Should I have waited a full 24 hours before registering the Sure Signal to my personal mobile number ?
Should I have re-registered it back to my work mobile number instead ?
Would a re-synch sort this out ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi
Yes it's suggested to de register the number for a period of 24 hours.
Current Phone >
Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512gb.

Yeah, I saw the 24 hours thing.
But I also saw another post that said they re-registerd straight away.
I thought as I was transfering it to a different number I'd chance it.
Doh !
Going to de-register later tonight, get drunk, de-stress, leave it off all weekend and re-register on Monday.
I get the feeling I'll be back !

Right, I thought I would wait a full week before posting an update on the above problem.
The bottom line is that my VSS is now working fine, which if nothing else should hopefully give those of you at the beginning of your trials some hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure (excuse the pun) how I got to VSS Nirvana. Let me explain.
As per my previous post, I de-registered the VSS again, switched it off and left it unplugged over a full weekend. I got drunk, de-stressed and prepared for the Monday morning switch on. And indeed it would seem that the time off also mellowed my VSS. I re-registered it at 9 O'Clock in the morning and then simply plugged in the cables and switched it on. After about 15 minutes the 4th light came on solid and my phone had full coverage, which it still has now. I have also added 3 other users and they now all have full coverage.
So it would seem that de-registering for at least 24 hours and then re-registering is the cure when you change SIM cards. However, this where it gets a bit messy. Now the first twist to this is of my own doing. Rather than re-registering it to my new personal PAYG number again, I decided to re-register it back to my original Contract number. Logic to that was "Contract always gets better service than PAYG", which may or may not be true, but after 3 weeks of VSS failure you know you'll try anything. So you can take your pick as to what made things rosy again.
And that's where I thought my story would end. At the end of the day my VSS was working again and it was time for me move on. Or so I thought. Then some 6 hours later I got a response from Vodafone to one of my posts in another forum thread. This said that I had some incomplete registered details and that these had now been completed along with a re-synch. The response also said I should wait 6 hours and then re-set the device. So for the first time in 3 weeks I had a working VSS, and now I was being asked to switch it off again !!. This obviously made me a little nervous so I asked for confirmation that the re-set was really necessary. After a week I haven't had a response so I've left it alone and things are still fine.
So people you take your pick as to why things are back to normal:-
Joking aside, I suspect the 24 hour wait posisbly along with the re-synch is the magic formula, but at this time of the year I like the idea of option 5 !
Thanks Vodafone for the guidance and re-synch and good luck to the rest of you
Have a good Christmas.

You know how sometimes you just wish you'd kept your gob shut ?
I thought after 10 days of working service I was safe to provide the above update.
I thought if I did my good deed for the day and gave an update to help other users the VSS Gods would bless me.
Clearly not !
Yesterday morning, back to the old scenario of just lights one and two and no service.
Switched it on and off......no service.
Full re-set and wait 24 hours ...............no service.
The occasional disco of various flashing light permutations.
But ultimately back to just lights one and two and no service.
Can someone at Vodafone do a check and re-synch or whatever....PLEASE.

@purpleclaude3 I can see that your Sure Signal made contact with our server earlier this morning. Please let us know if you're experiencing any issues along with its current light sequence.

Thanks for getting back Natasha.
Unfortunately still having problems.
Typically the lights sequence is lights one and two steady.
However, there is currently a lot of flashing light activity as follows.

@purpleclaude3 Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Thanks Rahim,
Unfortunately I still have no service.
I waited for 10 hours after your re-synch but still only had lights one and two.
I have since forwarded the usual set of ports, restarted my router and re-set the VSS.
24 hours later I still only have lights one and two with the occasional burst of flashing as before.
