Hi Tom,
Your symptoms sound like a failing power supply, similar to this one......
http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Sure-Signal/VSS1-in-constant-loop/td-p/2335822
But the only easy way to prove this is to replace the power supply which are readibly availabe on Amazon or ebay and should cost around £10-12 delivered although some members have found suitable units cheaper than that.
A fuller explanation of the problem..... http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Sure-Signal/SureSignal-1-flashing-but-not-working-possible-f...
This is now becoming a common problem with the Mk.1 and 2 because of their age.
Good Luck.
Mike.

That's very good news to hear Tom, :smileyhappy:
But because you did explain the symptoms of the light patterns, rather than just saying 'My sure signal doesn't work any more' helped a lot in diagnosing your problem.
Good luck Tom,
Mike.
