About a month ago I saw a message on my S8+ letting me know that my charging port had moisture in it. Didn’t think much of it and assumed it’d dry out if it had accidentally gotten wet although to my knowledge it’s not been near water at all.
Over the weekend it the message has come back refused to go away despite again not being near water.
I figured giving it a rinse might sort it out so did so and nothing changed. I managed to charge the phone by turning it off and plugging it in but I’m concerned that it is a fault with the handset.
i checked on the Samsung forum and it seems like lots of people are having the same issue.
Anyone here experienced the same issue? If so what did they do? Go to VF or go to Samsung?
Thanks
G

Hi in the s7 there is a sensor in the SIM slot not sure if it's in the s8 I would bet that there is though as it stops them having to pull apart the device without having to check inside.
As if i believe that if it is tripped it voids the warranty.
But I have read the posts you mention.
Don't introduce any more water though
I'm paranoid about breathing on mine as I believe the sensors could detect moisture in a damp environment.
I would go back to Vodafone store though.

Yes @Anonymous there has been a few threads in different forums about this glitch.
If you Google there are various help troubleshoot tips like rice and drying out the port etc and some YouTube videos.
If it continues and the water sensor hasn't been tripped which is in the SIM card slot then ask for a diagnostic from a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Location as they know their hardware and software better than any repair centre Vodafone would send it off to.
However , If it has tripped then the Manufacturing Warranty is void.
Then possibly any household insurance or specific mobile phone warranty cover you have on it or some Bank Accounts provide cover as a perk of the account would be the next step. T&C's and excess fees would need to be checked.
Another workaround could be to use a desktop or pad style wireless charger.
