Cheers TSD for the advice I think I will have to do that. I sold my Iphone 6s plus Monday and the Note 7 arrived Tuesday. I am yet to charge my phone it is currently sitting on 5%.

Don't let the phone discharge fully...
Samsung phones are notorious for not working properly if you let them go completely flat!
In some cases they have to go away for repair in order to get them going again!

Samsung have closed for the evening, so I called Vodafone. The advisor was lovely but didn't seem to have a clue about what is going on, as she advised me to pop into my local store and they'd give me a replacement handset.
For the time being, I'm going to keep hold of my phone, only charge it when I'm able to keep an eye on it, and hope that Vodafone and Samsung get their acts together at some point over the next couple of weeks (preferably before I go on holiday in a fortnight).

I've charged mine every day since Tuesday, no problem yet (touch wood). I'm just going to use it as normal until the replacements are ready
Amazing how much juice is used to set phones up and learning to use them and explore.
Ive played with the working demo model in my local Samsung Store and I have to say it's an impressive device.
Just to err on the side of caution please only charge it within your line of sight.

Well I have tried 3 times to get through to Samsung and after over 30 minutes each time I gave up, what a disaster for one of the best smartphone makers, this could seriously kill them off and it wouldn't surprise me if a certain fruit named company had a hand in it!
Even before we were told to arrange a replacement I had major problems, mine would not hold onto the network at all, placing it along side my S7 Edge which has the same insides virtually and my S7 Edge has 4G on 2 bars, the Note 7 had no signal whatsoever, that to me indicates there is also a problem with the internals, I do hope my new replacement for my already new Note 7 works better, otherwise Vodafone will be losing another customer and when my other 3 contracts come up for renewal I will take my business elsewhere.
Vodafone's answer to the signal problem was for me to send the phone back and they would cancel the renewal, some customer service that wasn't!

I just rang and answer message said if calling about Note 7 recall then message them using their email form at:
http://www.samsung.com/uk/info/contactus.html
I gave my EMEI and Serial Number and said i'd like a replacement. Aparrently they will be back in touch within 7 days.

I contacted samsung and vodafone to raise my issues.
Samsung took serial number and IMEI number and said I would be contacted within 7 days. I think Vodafone should be handling the returns directly with Samsung not the other way around. They should get X amount of new Note 7 for how many they have already sent out. Then door swap old effected ones for new ones.
How does insurnace work for a handset switch from the manufacture and mobile provider? Say I have a problem with the new one the handset this will not scan in from returns from vodafone. Would i go back to vodafone or samsung?
This is really a mess on all accounts.

A very good question indeed !
The IMEI number would definitely need updating on Vodafone's records , if not at least if you require the phone unlocking to all networks at some point.
