I was seriously considering the Note 7 for my next phone. now? Perhaps not!

Me too.
That or the Samsung Galaxy s7 edge if the iPhone 7 plus didn't tick my wants and needs boxes.
I'd certainly be interested in reading Samsungs official answer / update to this asap instead of reading media reports gathered from sources who do not want to be named.

Samsung Electronics declined to comment on the report on Friday, but said it was conducting the inspection with its partners, it said.
“We will share the findings as soon as possible. Samsung is fully committed to providing the highest quality products to our consumers,” the company said in a statement.
Citing a company official, Yonhap said Samsung’s investigation found that faulty batteries caused the phone to catch fire. Samsung is discussing how to resolve the issue with Verizon and its other partners, the official told Yonhap.

i would imagine that Samsung will not make an official public statement until such times as they have worked out a recall system with their trading partners. But there again they make do an Apple and not make any public statement giving full details as to why this has occurred.

@Give it a few weeks for the battery issues to settle @jeffkinn and then perhaps reassess the handset. From what I have seen so far it looks pretty impressive (particularly the inbuild self warming functionality :smileytongue: )

It does look like a nince phone even though the iPhone is apparently much faster.
I wonder is Samsung uses the Hanjin shipping line to move stock around the world? - gone bust today
