Slow speed peak times

i get the same.. Suppossed to be 76 mb but in day time midnightish till 18:00 iget anything between 50 -67 mb which is totally acceptable. However between 18:00 and midnight my connection is traffic shaped and i get a max of 18mb lowest of about 8. Now i know that not to bad but its around 10% of my connection speed stated on my router. And way below the minimum of a guaranteed 45mb. I have been through the terms and conditions and im unable to find the traffic managemnet bit. Also this has only just started when i upgraded to 76mb from 38mb so its defo something to do with the upgrade

@maughanorama When you install a new router, you can see erratis speeds for the first ten days as your service settles down. If you're still concerned with your speeds after this time, please contact our Broadband Live Chat team and we'll be happy to look into this for you.

@Mark Im sorry but that is incorrect, installing anew router should in no way restart the settling in period as DLM is not reset.

This happens with all broadband suppliers, from 6pm the demand increases and they reduce speeds across the board, they don’t have the infrastructure to meet demand so fob you off with laim excuses. The government has insisted everyone should receive a minimum 10mb connection without any regard to what is currently achievable so suppliers juggle speeds to try to keep everyone happy.

@Foxhole The peak time slow downs don't effect all other ISP's, when i was with Plusnet i got a constant speed regardless of the time of day, Vodafone are either employing traffic management in order to limit bandwidth consumption or their backhaul is so over subscribed it can't cope, either way it needs sorting as they advertise an unlimited service and for what seems like a very large portion of customers that is not the case as the service is limited at peak times.

Just left plusnet , 6pm always meant a drop to 10mb or less from 29 mb during the day .
