Static Global IP Address

Hi, could my broadband connection be provided with a static Global IP Address?

This would really help manage remote access to some of my 'lab' devices at home for studying etc. Ideally i'd like a custom PTR record too, but that would be a bonus. 

This will hopefully also encourage me to stay with Vodafone, especially after recent issues - see my other thread.

I've got to give Vodafone (or one of a good employee of ) credit where it's due as he has not only managed to finally sort out security contact details on the account, but to also have a static IP address allocated.

I'll drop my PPP conection in 48 hours a couple of times and see whether the magic has really happened!

My IP address appears to be 'static' now which is great! I've got a confirmation thorugh for this now.

Only if I was lucky to deal with "vodafone rep who dealt with tocket #18399266"  Maybe I would still be with Vodafone O_o
