Sorry, I missed your reply earlier. Wife's phone and mine are both Tesco others are EE and Vodafone.

Hi @bolo

I am confused here, if you are no longer a Vodafone customer, you will need to contact Tesco Customer Services for your messaging issues.

If you were previously a Vodafone customer and are using the same phone, you will need to use the Tesco Messaging Centre number in your message setting.

If you are using an incorrect messaging centre number, this will stop your messaging from working and could well be the cause of your issues.

Hi,

Are you using the original stock messaging app thst came with the phone @bolo

I ask as there is a known issue with thst phone and using a 3rd party dialer > https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Announcements/Vodafone-Smart-ultra-6/m-p/2542237#M237

Pethaps try the generic troubleshooting tips of closing down the app and turn the phone Off and On.

Hi yet again and thanks yet again for the super fast reply. This time it's my wife's phone and no, she hasn't changed from the original messaging app. The problem is that the offending message only surfaces with 3 of her many contacts. I am one of the three!!! Do you think she's trying to tell me something? 🤔 Tried clearing data and cache on the app followed by a restart but no use.

How about fully deleting the contacts this is occurring with and re enter them.

What phone model is this affecting ?

May be misunderstanding that Vodafone advice. When they refer to a third party dialer, are they referring to the messaging app or to the provider. If it is the latter, then yes, she has changed from Vodafone to another provider.

They are referring to people who have downloaded a 3rd party dialer to replace the stock one.

Like how some decide to use another messaging App to replace the text messaging app thst comes pre installed.

You could try using an alternative messaging app !

Hopefully a Factory Reset won't become necessary.

Deleted all 3 problem contacts, re-entered and tried again. Problem still exists.

Both of us are with Tesco and the 2 other users are with EE and Vodafone respectively.

Hi @bolo

The first thing to look at will be the Messaging Centre Number.  For Vodafone this is +447785016005.  For EE and Tesco, you will need an alternative messaging centre number.

If you go into your settings, under general, scroll down to applications.  You will then see your list of applications, scroll to messaging, storage, clear cache.  Follow this with a reboot.
