Vodafone Smart Platinum 7 spontaneous glass crack

So, last night my Vodafone Smart Platinum 7 back glass just cracked without any external force or dropping of any kind. I had it on charge for a while, and then took it off. It felt a bit warm but nothing out of the usual. I carried it outside to go for a cigarette, where it was cold, and without it hitting anything, being dropped it anything that you'd expect to cause damage, I heard it crack while it was in my hand. I looked around it and there's a hairline crack running down the middle of the back glass, from the fingerprint scanner right down to the bottom of the glass.

Anyone ever experienced this? Any of the Vodafone advisers able to help me? I assume this is covered by warranty since it isn't accidental damage?

I had a look on axon and couldn't see any back glass that specifically fit this phone. I'm hoping I don't need it, and that Vodafone stand over their warranty as the damage wasn't user caused, but just in case they don't, something that prevents further damage might come useful. I'll have another look.

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

Amazon, not Axon.

@The_Neviller I'm sorry to hear what's happened to your phone. The advice @BandOfBrothers has provided is spot on.

I'd recommend popping into your local Vodafone store, so that we can take a closer look at the phone.

For screen protectors, try this (link to eBay search).   The tempered glass ones all seem to be for the front, but there are also ones for the back, some of which claim to be impact resistant at least and may be better than nothing.  That's if you can't get a repair.
