Vodafone Smart Ultra 7 faulty

Slightly long story here but need some advice as what to do.

About a year ago I got an Ultra 7 on pay monthly, with in the first three months I had multiple software and firmware faults on the device, it was sent off for repair five times in all, each time taking about two weeks for me to get the phone back. It got to the point where Vodafone were just sending me refurbished phones that still had the issues on them.

I decided to purchase a brand new Ultra 7as I liked the phone (when it was working) and it was a good price. I’ve had the phone for nine months now and have had to send it off three times already for software and firmware issues. Each time I’ve had one of the rubbish courtesy phones that have meant I cannot use 90% of the features I’m paying for each month and each time the phone has been away for over a week. They’ve not replaced it, even after telling me I would get a new phone instead of refurbishing my one.

My nearest store is over 10 miles away, I work full-time and work long, unsocial hours which means travelling to my nearest store is a real hassle and expensive in fuel. I’ve had to contact customer service over this and they’ve only refunded me one months bill for nearly a years worth of hassle.

I am extremely frustrated with my phone and Vodafone. Ideally I would like to cancel my contract but as I had to purchase a new phone, I am only nine months into a 24 month contract so there’s no way I can afford the early cancellation fee.

Do I have any right to cancel my contract and not pay as I’ve had all these issues and Vodafone seem to have supplied a faulty phone without informing customers it’s faulty?

Thank you!

Understandably you've lost confidence in the phone and I can't blame you @Gd1329

The 24 Month contract is separate from the phone.

i.e the phone is supplied as a perk of the contract to do with as you will from using it all the time to using it as a back up phone to selling it on.

Although I understand your frustration with the phone it has no bearing on the term of the contract and you being able to have it cancelled with no Early Termination Fee applied.

If this was me i'd sell the phone and buy another make and model.

@Gd1329 I'm sorry to hear of the issues you've been experiencing with your phone.
If you're still experiencing issues, you can send your phone for repair as an alternative to popping into your nearest store. You can find out more information on how to do this here.
