Hi There, I was with virgin media home service and sure signal was working. Recently changed to virgin media business with fixed ip. And stopped working. I have tried all sort restarting sure signal, resetting sure signal etc etc. Router restart / reset all combination including deregistering and registering sure signal. Below is ping and tracert result:

If they supplied a new router, check the MTU can be set to 1500 otherwise you'll have to supply your own replacement.

It is important to report all failed SureSignal V3 using the links below to:

Its a cable line so no MTU. Just spoke to virginmedia. Vodafone sure signal will not work with virgin media static ip service as vodafone sure signal works like vpn, other vpn service also will not work. They will be rolling out new system after 24th october then it should work as they say.

I have a Static IP here on OpenReach so don't see why this would be the reason if IP is in Vodafone's whitelist.

If port forwarding is set correctly, then it can only be fragmented packets due to MTU.

Can you check the MTU on a computer and see if it's not less then 1500 which is imperative.

Port forwarding has been set up correctly. Virgin media business router does not have any option to set up MTU. Virgin medias ip works differently than openreach. The Static IP service works by the Hitron establishing a VPN with virgin (GRE tunnel). So i cant use sure signal as well my head office vpn. Crap.

The link you have provided its for virgin media home users hub / router. Business router is different and very strict on options it called Hitron CGN4. And you can't change much there not even ipsec, vpn pass through etc.

FYI I am getting this

So MTU is set at 1458. But i cannot change it in the router.

Cable or other.. MTU is a network protocol and it will be in the router even if you cannot see the settings for it. If the settings not there in the GUI nor can it be set by TELNET then it cannot be changed and is fixed.

Speak to Virgin and ask what they are using. If its less than 1500, thats your problem.
