I got this tonight on my Samsung Galaxy S5 when trying to use my camera and took a screenshot of it but after restarting my device the Camera is working again. After reading up about it seems to be a fault with them and it seems mines also has the fault but how do I go around getting this sorted if its no longer showing the fault because obviously my device has the fault ?

Hi Vaux1,

Sounds like you have one of the handsets affected with the hardware issue

Samsung have said they will replace affected phones so you will be able to get it sorted.

I suggest contacting Samsung directly as they will likely be able to provide a replacement quicker than Vodafone

http://www.samsung.com/uk/info/contactus.html

Alternatively you can Contact Vodafone though I imagine they would require the handset to be inspected prior to issuing a replacement.

Thank you very much

Visited vodafone in store and because I've had it for more than 7 days they wanted to send it away to be inspected leaving me with without a phone for a week or longer. So contacted Samsung and they don't seem interested didn't even tell me it has been a fault with them just told me to go to a carphone warehouse store for it to be sent away to be inspected leaving me once again without a phone !!!

Sounds like Samsung are wanting the fault confirmed by an engineer in the repair centre before they issue a replacement.

Sit tight, i'll flag it with the eForum team to see what communication they have had around the issue.

Thank you your being a great help. The only problem is I seem to be reading other people who have had this problem they seem to have it permanent but when get the warning and I restart my device the camera works fine again then will randomly happen again. But I have now noticed also when I video at night I used to be able to switch on my light with flashlight app and be able to video at night but now I can't when I click on the camera I'm getting the same message warning : camera failure but I was able to do it before.

@Northern-dj it's a known issue that Samsung have recognized.

I'm not sure of the exa t details as they (Samsung) havnt released a proper statement. Best thing to do is sit tight for the latest info from Vodafone.

It may or may not be that fault and getting the phone sorted would be the best approach this may just need the firmware sorting or it could be a issue completley differant

I would send this direect to Samsung as this may need parts or Specialist repair

Hi Vaux1,

Did you get the phone directly from one of our stores or from Carphone Warehouse?

If you got the phone from us, you can arrange a repair in store and you'll be issued with a replacement phone whilst your Galaxy S5 is away.

If the phone was purchased from Carphone Warehouse, you'd need to speak with them to arrange a repair.

Thanks,

Matt B
