Hello,

I've dropped my phone in water. Tried all the tricks to revive it but it's dead. I have no insurance and just wanted to know what my options would be now? What would Vodafone recommend I do in this situation? Or would I be looking at going through Apple?

Any advice gratefully received!!

If you don't have insurance then with respect, you're pretty well stuffed. It will probably be a big mistake and waste of time taking it to Vodafone for them to send it off for repair, probably to an Apple repair centre anyway and take half a lifetime chasing progress. Your best bet in my opinion would be to either take it to your freindly phone doctor to see if he can do anything or do a Google search to find an Apple customer service number and ask them. I think that your 'what now?' would be, buy a new phone and get insurance on it through your independant or house insurance. Next time you're washing your car don't have your phone in your top pocket when you bend over the bucket to squeeze out the sponge!

Make an appointment with a Genuis at an Apple Store, they will do an out of warranty replacement for your from around £110 depending on the model of the phone.
Have you checked whether or not your household insurance cover the damage?

Thanks both. Am taking it in to apple today to see what my options are!

Hi,

Some Bank Accounts provide Mobile phone insurance as part of running the account. Excess Fee's may apply.

Through  the costs are within this official link https://www.apple.com/uk/support/iphone/repair/other/

Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512gb.

It might be worth taking your receipt for the phone with you, you may be asked to provide a 'proof of purchase' or 'proof of ownership' before they'll look at it or if the insurance would pay out.
