Why are you refusing to send a dongle to make up for your abysmal service?

I started my broadband order on the 5th August, there were loads of problems so you started order again start pof September.  My activation date was 21st Sept so my old provider cut me off. I've now been without internet for 10 days, terrible customer service and now finally you've told me it will be online on the 24th!! This is a month without internet so I want a USB dongle set up with web to at least tide me over, but customer service say they "can't" do this.  They keep telling me they could put 50GB on a mobile, but why on earth would I do this when I need PC Internet.  Please tell me why this is unavailable in such dire circumstances.

You could ask for that Gb of Data added and then tether from a mobile.

Or pick up a payg sim card and ask for it to be added to that and pick up a second hand dongle and use it in that. Appreciate your not wanting to outlay anything.

Hi @samuellificatio

I undertsand this is a frustrating time for you as nobody wants to be without internet in this day and age.

We won't be able to subsidise your lack of broadband with a dongle.

But we'd like to look into your activation date with you further. Please email our team directly here.

Once we've received your email, one of our team will be able to escalate your issue with our specialist team.

Thanks.

Vodafone sure do like to mess up new connections!

I was in a "similar" situation to you - was told that a Monday was my going live date, Talk Talk disconnected me and it wasn't until Thursday that Vodafone eventually went live - so for me only 4 days, compared to your month.

I was on the phone constantly - 3 times a day whilst there was no connection. I managed to get credit for a month of broadband and they too offered to put 50GB allowance onto my phone.

I told them it wasn't worth it as Vodafone's signal around me is terrible - I simply wouldn't be able to get a 4G connection.

However, as long as you've got either an iPhone or far superior Android device, you should be able to set your phone up as a mobile hotspot, connect your PC to that and utilise the data allowance like that - unless of course you're in an area where you cannot get a good data signal.
