I haven't had a reliable signal for the last four months. Vodafone's answer was a device called Sure Signal but it would cost me £100 !!! Why sould I pay again for a signal I'm not getting via my subscription?

Hi RogerGreenway,

Thanks for posting. Have you moved property since taking up your current agreement? If not has the signal deteriorated since you joined the network? We provide a 7 day cooling off period for all customers to ensure they are happy with the service in their area. If you move house or if the signal has always been intermittent, purchasing a Sure Signal unit is often cheaper than paying off your Early Termination Fee. It's also a great option for those who can't get reception due to being in a 'blackspot' such as a basement, rural area or a building with poor signal penetration.

If the signal has degraded, it may be worthwhile checking for any known faults in your area using our public Faults Board. If your area isn't listed there, you can follow this Troubleshooting Guide to pinpoint the problem and report anything we're not yet aware of.

As the Sure Signal units are no longer in our warehouses to pick, we are unable to change the cost of these devices. Just like a phone, this hardware costs money so that is why there's a one off charge for using this option. You can purchase them in store or online here.

Cheers, Ben

Ben, No I have not moved. The signal has just been so bad I can't make a call downstairs. Upstairs I can sometimes make a call if I stand very still. It's just not acceptable. With regards to my current contract, I have the option to renew or go somewhere else. i.e. no termination fee. I expect to have a reliable signal, if you think I will get that with a Sure Signal unit then provide it as part of your service. I'm not paying more because you can't deliver a relaible signal.

Hi RogerGreenway,

Thanks for getting back. If there is degraded service in your area, we can look at reporting it to a technician for you. If your coverage has always been intermittent, then you can look at getting a Sure Signal discounted in with your next upgrade deal much like you would with a phone. This is something you can discuss with your local store as they have them on site.

We treat Sure Signal the same as any other hardware and cannot give them out for free to one individual, and charge £100 to another. I'm confident that our stores will negotiate something with you on your upgrade though. :Smiling:

If your coverage is the result of a recent issue, feel free to use this guide to report it in our Network Board.

Cheers, Ben
