I have the following problem with the new ZTE K4201-Z 3g USB STICK.
When i put the stick in the usb port of my laptop (TurboX - Manufacture Clevo - W670SHQ),
the laptop crashes and gives me the message "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE"
the laptop has Microsoft Windows 8.1 64 bit.
From Vodafone shop changed my stick 3 times, i spoke with the dealer-support of my laptop,
nobody can help me about this problem.
Notice that the stick works fine in a PC with Windows XP and Windows 7.
Please help me with this problem.
P.S. In my laptop the stick k4201 works fine, i tried from a friend.

Hello dritpetros!
I am very sorry about all of the frustration and inconvenience caused! If Vodafone staff have replaced it several times then it will be the Windows 8.1 operating system on your laptop or it could be your laptop itself.
There is no answer to this question. I would go and get your money back and purchase a different modem because it could just be that this certain modem doesn't work on your laptop.
I am very sorry that I couldn't help with this issue further!

Thank you for your answer but i think that a solution can be found.
I believe that the problem is at the network card drivers.
Here we don't have other 3G usb stick Vodafone (only k4201-z).
I am waiting a answer from a specialist.

Hi
I would be interested to hear the answer to this ... as it doesn't crash my Win 8 laptop .... but it won't install.
The laptop can't install it as it can't find correct drivers.
Cheers
Billy

Hi @billythewizz & @dritpetros
I'd recommend that you both check that you have the latest software. You can find more information on our business software updates page.
Thanks,
Sukhi

Hi Sukhi
Thanks ... but as you acknowledged in the other thread ... even the "Latest" software doesn't include the drivers for the 4201-Z ( Although the pdf readme specfically states that 10.3.414 supports the K4201z).
On my Win 8 laptop it just says unknown hardware.... although I have now 'forced' windows to use the included K3520z drivers.... and it works.
Although VMB ... still cannot use it.
Cheers
Billy

Dear Sukhi
Thaks for your answer but i will not agree with you.
I have tried everything but when i put the stick in my laptop
always receive the same blue screen "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" .
It is compatibility problem between the 3G USB STICK ZTE K4201-Z
with WINDOWS 8.1.
You must update with new drivers the 3G stick.
Regards

Hi @dritpetros,
We don't have any further information.
When new firmware is available it'll be on the website that Sukhi has linked to.
Thanks,
Matt
