If a firmware update has been carried out on the phone then it's generally suggested to carry out a factory reset or hard reset which helps to clear out old files from the update and helps sometimes if the phone is glitching.
The Factory reset option will be in your phones settings.
A Hard Reset is usually a mix of button presses and can be found by a Google Search -> Hard Reset if your make and model of phone.
As these procedures take the phone back to the state it came out of the box its recommended that a Back Up is performed to save any data in the phones memory.
