nexus 6 showing portrait photos upside down

Weird one this.
On certain apps, for eg KIK, anything taken by the front camera shows as upside side, the preview only on photos, and the downloaded version for videos.
I've had a look through online, and I can see it's quite common, but no one has a solution.
My note 3 worked absolutely fine.

Anyone any ideas?
