"please Insert Sim Card" Message

Yamaha
Not applicable
Bought this yesterday for my Asus EEE 901 GO netbook, running XP. At first the installation hung trying to install MS .Net - so I retried from My Computer. This seemingly worked OK, but when VMC started again, it showed the message "SIM card not found".

I checked and reinserted the card, but to no avail - still can't find the card, so no "Connect" box.

I deleated and reinstalled the software, but still the same result. Device Manager shows two Funai modems, but no yellow asterisks - so I deleated the second one, but still no joy.

Can anybody help, please, as I don't want to return it for a refund.

Being new on here, I did do a search for this problem before i posted - but couldn't find any references to it, or a solution.

Wow - this help that I have been promised several times sure is a long time coming.

I have my 67th birthday next month - and not too sure how many more will follow - so would really appreciate getting this dongle sorted out before the dementia sets in!!

Well, it seems my prayers have been answered. Reidar from VF phoned me tonight, and, thanks to him, all is now sorted.

I can use my sim card in the 3g slot in my Asus, and use the VF software to monitor my usage and connection speed - so I'm a happy bunny again!!

Thanks Reidar,

Mike

Hi Yamaha

It is great to hear that your issue has been resolved now. I will make sure to pass on your thanks to Reidar. (He gets testy if we forget to pass things on to him and I don’t want to spend another night locked in the cupboard). If you do have any further issues or if you just want to swap hints and tips with our other eForum users please don’t hesitate to carry on posting.

As you are a Vodafone customer why not think about taking out a mobile handset as well? Take a look at our online store as it is currently packed with great deals to suit any user. I upgraded recently myself and I could not believe the value I got for my money!

Cheers
