s6 edge emails notifications

Hi

I am completely stumped,for some reason I don't get notifications anymore when I get emails and only get my emails if I click on the email box. I've been in settings and it says sync disabled,is that why they've stopped coming through and if so can someone please tell me how to correct this.

Hi there

Are you using the built in email functionality or a separate app?  Which email provider are you using?

Built in, google

So try going into Settings > Accounts > Google > your account name  and check to see if the syncing is enabled there.

Have you checked the settings in the Email app itself and made sure that it is still set to sync your emails and notify you when they arrive.  Make sure the sync settings are set to "push" so that you automatically get notified when your emails come through.

Thanks, I've pressed few switches and sent a email from different account and my phone did a sound 🙂

Brilliant.

As a matter of interest, there is actually a specific Gmail app - you may want to take a look at that as I personally find it easier to use, configure and gives a bit more functionality.  I feel that the specific email apps work better than the bog standard one.
