I'm having trouble re-linking up my Google Nest wifi router to my Vodafone broadband hub. It worked fine previously, but I needed to re-link it up. I wondered if anyone could help please.
My vodafone hub has a solid white power and wifi light but the internet light is constantly flashing red, and no amount of reboots or resets seems to be able to change this. I am able to connect to use wifi fine (and to connect to other devices), but when my Google Home app finds my Google Nest router it goes onto say it can't connect as 'Connection issue - the modem isn't giving your wifi point an internet connection'. I'm convinced this is something to do with the flashing red light (which won't change to solid white).
I've been batted off by Vodafone and told to speak to Google Nest support, which I've done. Vodafone said my wifi is showing as connecting fine, and the fact it won't connect to the Nest is probably because of faulty Google equipment, but the Nest is only 2 months old and Google have now looked at a status test I submitted (which they said looked fine re the Nest) and made me do a factory reset of the Nest (which didn't solve the problem). Therefore Google are now telling me the problem does lie with Vodafone.
How can my Vodafone hub be working perfectly (as Vodafone are telling me) if I have a flashing red internet light?

That flashing red internet light means that you have no internet connection. So long as that persists, not only will you have no internet, but as the Nest WiFi setup requires internet, you'll have no means of setting the Nest WiFi up!
Vodafone's support are not the sharpest knives in the block, so I'd suggest getting the modem/router provably working first, and then work on the Nest WiFi!
When speaking to Vodafone support, don't have the Nest Wifi even powered up, and don't even mention it. Once the VF side of the equation is working, then you can move on to the Nest WiFi which VF support will not have a clue and will not care about!

It seems strange that you have a flashing red internet light, but are concerned about not being able to get your Nest working. Surely you have no internet at all?

That's the odd thing, I'm connecting via my Vodafone hub to WiFi but you can have WiFi without internet I believe?
Vodafone today seem to have identified it as an Open reach problem. Engineer coming Tuesday.

You can certainly have Wi-Fi without internet, but for most of us that would be pretty useless.

That is definitely the most likely cause. (unless the DSL cable to your router is disconnected)

Anyone have success connecting Google Nest to Vodafone Router? Been trying for hours, done factory reset (twice) and followed all the instructions I can find - nothing - Help!

@Lyla you are not alone! Google home/nest mesh systems don't play nicely with a host of ISP routers. In the case of these specific mesh systems, ease of setup seems to have trumped flexibility to the point of making the devices unusable for some users.
Home/Nest mesh systems can be paired with VDSL router if you are on FTTC, but if you happen to be on FTTP that requires the use of a VLAN then it gets further complicated!
