I am getting 68meg into the home, so all good, but I want to know what drop in speed I should expect into the home? When I test WiFi I am getting 58meg, so that is a drop of 10meg. This is over WiFi and Lan. Is this the norm for all modems are some better at retaining the speed from in to the home to passing to the devices

Hi @dennispad We can't guarantee what speeds you'll experience over Wi-fi, as there are lots of variables that can affect this such as placement of the router, walls interrupting the signal, and the number of devices connected. We'd expect there to be a slight drop at peak times (roughly 6am-9am, 5pm-8pm), and if there were lots of devices connected at the same time, but we wouldn't be able to give an exact number that your speeds would drop by.
I'd recommend checking out our Youtube page here for some helpful hints and tips to optimise your Wi-fi 😀

It's not over WiFi. I wanted to know what the expected difference would be from the speed coming into the home compared to the speed a device would get off it was the only device connected and over Lan. I have tested this using a laptop and your supplied Lan cable. Talking to other third party modem providers and they mentioned 1 or 2 Meg however your router seems to be 8 or 9 meg

Hi @dennispad
When you did your test using the LAN Cable, what were your download speed results compare to the sync speed? Did you also have other devices connected to the router at this time or was the WiFi on the router switched off? 🙂

I had WiFi turned off, no other device was connected. I tested with my laptop using the provided VF Lan cable, several times in the day and the speeds were similar. Sync speed as confirmed with the VF app was 68.9 meg and the download speed was 58

@dennispad If this is a consistent issue for you, please contact our social media team who will be able to troubleshoot with you and access your account.
If there is a significant difference and you have speed tests examples of this, please also send this via social media and we can get it raised if needs be for you 😊

I already posted the specs and you will find info here: The actual speed of the THG3000 router.
