Hi really frustrated and I don't fancy the fault finding with Vodafone 🤦
Basically last year my new vox hg3000 router stopped working DSL sync up and down fine. just no download connection (well about 0.3mb on a 50mb sync) upload was fine after some "fault finding" with Vodafone I gave up and fitted my own router dsl-ac88u that worked right away but has all ways been poor with Facebook and only works well if using 3rd party DNS servers.
Any way I had been putting up with that for over a year if it's too frustrating I will switch to my 4g mobile network and the Facebook pages will load in a split second.
Well I poked the bear by organising my network and doing a fresh start with my smaller dsl-ac68u with more features and security well it was syncing fine but would stop responding to internet request after an hour so I replaced the dsl-ac88u back in and that worked again for an hour rebooted the pppoe session and got a few more hours then realised none of my windows pc would now work.
In a panic after some fruit less fault finding I grabbed my open reach approved Fritzbox 7490 and set that up, internet back up for most things but windows pc still not working rebooted the router yesterday and now windows pc's working but trough out all this Facebook has got even worse and the speedtest app won't work but will speedtest, net will work trough chrome app 🤷 banging my head against the wall as some internet is better than nothing but not have any apps working as it's now Facebook Twitter WhatsApp and speedtest all not working sure there are more but not tested everything yet.
Despite using native ISP DHCP DNS issued Vodafone or Google DNS or opendns settings the problem is the same, I have logged in to my Vodafone and fully disabled content filters and no improvement.
Any way I don't fancy banging my head against the wall with ##~## off family going trough the teir 1 and 2 surport dance to deal with a problem that is back end for the next few weeks, the dsl line worked for years with bt and sky and is all ways stable sync speed unless I play about with changing routers then it dips for a few days not too bad if you leave a router off for over 35 minutes before plugging in the next one(top tip their for open reach DLM😉😉).
So to close 3x 3rd party routers 3 identical problems or Vodafone hub that has no download connection at all or use 4g from my mobile that works fine for everything 🤷🤦🤦🤦
I did see a post about the same problem of Facebook app not working and the thread stopped at contact technical.
I will also add in my local area have all had this problem and judging by Facebook they solved it by 800 bt engineer site visits or changing provider and as fttp with bt is in my area when I was told gigafast would be here first I might just do it 🤷😂

Oh dear, where to start. The first thing I would ask is how long until your contract ends?
Trying to get Vodafone to resolve problems is horrific, and if you have people wanting to use the internet whilst you fault find make it even worse.
Firstly check what your line is capable of at the BT checker BT Broadband (btwholesale.com)
Then go back to basics, just the Vodafone router and one ethernet connected device.
Factory reset the router and let is sync with the line. Log into the router and note the connection specs like this:
Line Quality
Current Rate | 78687 kbps | 20000 kbps |
Maximum Rate | 80383 kbps | 28819 kbps |
Signal-to-Noise Ratio | 6.1 dB | 11.5 dB |
Attenuation | DS1 8.8 dB, DS2 21.2 dB, DS3 33.0 dB | US0 1.9 dB, US1 14.6 dB, US2 23.4 dB |
Power | 12.7 dBm | 3.3 dBm |
CRC Errors in last 19978 minute(s) | 0 | 5210 |
K (number of bytes in DMT frame) | 0 | 0 |
R (number of bytes in RS code word) | 10 | 0 |
S (RS code word size in DMT frame) | 0.0987 | 0.3819 |
D (interleaver depth) | 8 | 1 |
Delay | 0 ms | 0 ms |
Then run a speed test from speedtest.net and record the result.
Now connect the Vodafone router to the test socket and do it again.
If the figures have improved your internal wiring is degrading the signal.
If nothing has improved let us know what your results are and we can try to think of the next thing to do.

Hi yes line is stable and within bt estimated it's line DSL never goes down just half of things work and half don't web browser still works but apps don't 🤷 it's very odd.
If I use the Vodafone hub sync looks good but speed tests are 0.4mb down and 10mb up. (This has been a theme for my estate about 3 months in you will see them post "my Vodafone has gone down")
As I said the 3rd party routers work but apps on devices are hit or miss mostly miss. Apps work on other peoples WiFi and over mobile 🤷
Will add TV and Netflix and YouTube seam to work all the time 🤷

If the problems are endemic to your estate, presumably on multiple suppliers, Vodafone can't really do anything.
It will be for Openreach to resolve. Perhaps get together with your neighbours and complain to your M.P.
Edit: If it's just Vodafone on your estate who have the problem then get together as a community and complain to Vodafone. It's harder for them to ignore that way.
Get it on local news media, they are sure to take notice.

It's not every one at the same time it's normally after a few months it just dies then they go trough a few weeks of no internet wile they get it fixed or leave 🤷 it's seams to be the last few years. I was trying not to rally the whole estate as I was hoping for gigafast but as that been binned off for now, I guess we might have to especially with bt fttp now available to the whole area 🤷

How long till the end of your contract with Vodafone?
‎08-04-2021 06:39 PM
About 10 months 😬 all though if I plug my Vodafone router in and let them deal with it I could be out of contract in 2 weeks after talking to ofcom for no service for those weeks 🤣 but then I would also have to deal with my family and no internet 🤷😂

If you go as a new user to BT FTTP they are going to have to put a new fibre in and no need to disturb the copper. You could then work on getting out of the Vodafone contract without disturbing the family.
Of course there's a risk they will fix it and you will be paying both for the next 10 months.
