Hi all, I'm new here so forgive me if I get things wrong.
I have been using Vodafone broadband for over two years now on the Connect router, I was given a WiFi Hub and tried to connect it. It gets an internet connection but I can't connect to the internet. The router lights come on saying there is a connection, and I can access the router via my browser. All the info looks as it should be, but running the diagnostics test says connectivity test failed. What am I doing wrong? any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Dave.

Hi @Scorpy71
Home Broadband isn't my bag and I've got to say I'm very much a plug and play type of user but this may help 》HOW-TO-Use-a-third-party-router-on-Vodafone-VDSL.
I hope the following member does not mind me mentioning him but @Anonymous knowledge surpasses my own and he might be able to help with this.
I wish you all the best with this situation.

I would hope that you've not got the WiFi hub off eBay, because if you ask for one, VF will send you one!
The authentication between Vodafone's servers and the router uses a unique key thats stored on the router and allows the router to retrieve your user name and password - you'll also see it called CHallenge And resPonse (CHAP).
So f the router is not assigned to your account it won't work. But it's an easy fix even if you bought the router! If you can chat to tech support either using social media, over the phone, or web chat, you can give them the router serial and they can set the router up for you.

I got the router off a friend who preferred to keep his own router, rather than the wifi hub. I'll try what you suggested. Many thanks.
