I have followed an excellent thread on here to configure my old THG3000 router as an access point in a garage conversion. The router is connected to the router in the house via a CAT6 cable. Everything works really well. The signal is strong and the speed is brilliant. The only slight issue I have is the Internet light on the router flashes and the router ‘ticks’ every 2 minutes. I am assuming the two are connected. Have I missed a step, or is there a setting I can change to stop this?
thanks in advance.

The internet light flashes red and then every 2 minutes or so the is an audible ’click’.
Everything works fine, it’s just the noise is a bit like water torture after a while.

Ah I see, I'm sorry I'm not sure. There might be a small chance that they would replace the router if you speak to our broadband technical team.

That is strange, it didn't happen when I used a THG3000 as an access point.
It is known to happen with BT routers, and is a relay clicking as it tries to reconnect to the DSL line, but I didn't think the THG3000 had one.
I'll try setting up a THG3000 as an access point later and see if I can duplicate the problem.
In the meantime, try connecting the INTERNET DSL port to one of the TEL ports with a DSL cable, that might just convince it there is something there.

I should have said some BT routers, don't know if it happens with all of them.
I have a THG3000 sitting right next to me with it's internet led flashing red, but there is definately no clicking.
Is it possible you have a THG3000G, the DSL section of that would be different to the standard THG3000?

Yes it does have a lower case g after the THG3000.

I suspect that is the reason, that router can be used on GFast connections, and has a different DSL section.
Fortunately THG3000's are dirt cheap on eBay.😀
