Hi,
I have recently been set up with the ultra hub vodafone wifi, however I'm currently having issues connecting one device as it doesn't support WPA3. If i connect my phone to the wifi then hotspot it does connect using wpa2 personal. My issue is that when I log into the router all of the settings to be able to change this are greyed out and states 'Super Wi-Fi is running your Wi-Fi settings. Please use the Super Wi-Fi tile in the Home Broadband App to manage your settings' , but when you access the app you don't have any options apart from to change the network name and password.
I have contacted Vodafone tech support who by the sounds of it have exactly the same functions as me, they suggested to turn compatability mode on, but this gives me no solution as the connection speed is awful (barely 2mbps). I have tested all the Internet speeds both wifi and lan which are giving good results (with combatabilty mode off). I would like to test a few changes to my router to solve the issue by first turning off 2.4ghz frequency and also change security type additionally it would be nice to be able to change the wifi channel.
This is the first broadband provider I have been with who have locked down all router settings, is there anyway around this?

I hope this can be done, as I want to force my Xbox onto 5GHz (it defaults to 2.4)
Does the old system of splitting the SSID and running two networks not work anymore? (I was going to try it this evening, as just switched to Vodaphone recently)

I think it depends what router you have signed up for, I'm on the ultra hub and literally everything is locked down.

@Brad0593 There is a WiFi setting that uses WPA2, compatibility mode I believe it's called.
Just as an aside, PlusNet supply a router that is equally frustrating and old good as a doorstop 😀

I had a quick look last night, and while I didn't have chance to do it (I'd have to reconfigure most devices), it would appear to be able to split the two frequencies into individual networks.
Go to the webpage for the router (http://192.168.1.1/)
from there, go to expert ettings, and then using the pdf (from here: https://www.vodafone.co.uk/cs/groups/public/documents/contentdocuments/vfcon090504.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwim... or google "split SSID vodaphone" if you don't want the link above) can possibly create the two networks.

@scottspeig Odd. The pdf link returns error 404 when I clicked on it. Anyway, the newer routers do not split SSIDs and this has been confirmed elsewhere in this forum.

The pdf you tried to link to Wi-Fi Channel Selection and Splitting SSIDs is way out of date, they haven't used that router for years.
They have deliberately removed the option to split the bands for most users as they say it conflicts with their "Super Wi-Fi".

The most frustrating thing is when you call up the "tech team" they have literally the exact same options as us the customer, also why does it state to goto Super Wi-Fi is running your Wi-Fi settings. Please use the Super Wi-Fi tile in the Home Broadband App to manage your settings when that setting doesn't even exist. Tried to explain this to vodafone but it seems to fall on deaf ears.
