Use unused router ports?

My new router has both a "fibre" port and two "telephone" ports which are currently unused.  On "big" router type boxes, such ports can be reconfigured to act like standard network ports so is this possible on the Vodafone router?  It would be nice to gain 3 extra network sockets (and yes, I could use them 🙂 ).

No they can't, and the TEL ports are RJ11 not RJ45.

However are your ports marked fibre and telephone? Mine are WAN and TEL.

On your other post you say your USB port is blue, so I wonder if you have a later version of the router. What is the model number of your router?

Thanks - yes "WAN" (sorry, was still thinking of my old router since these ports are normally plugged into a fibre or cable model).  I hadn't spotted that the Tel sockets were RJ45 - how odd since a UK phone would not have an RJ45 on the end (although cables are available of course).

And USB port, maybe.  Could be a trick of the light on the end of the port; it looks blue to me although I am slightly colourblind (red/green).  Might be just how the circuitboard "middle" of the socket has been cut causing it to look different to the one on the back which is clearly black.
