Xbox and nintendo switch multiplayer issues

I was having trouble playing multiplayer games on my xbox and switch when I had to connect to multiplayer servers.

I contacted Vodafone support and they ran various tests on the router but nothing worked.

Subsequently, I tried the various NAT solutions on the xbox support website even though my NAT was open from the get-go. I tried playing with UPnP, port mapping and making my xbox have a static IP address.

I was ready to give up but I contacted Vodafone again and asked them to try something different. The operative was performing some fixes on the router but I got cut off from the conversations. Regardless, I tried logging onto a game again and I was able to connect to multiplayer servers.

Unfortunately, I don't know what fixes were done by the operative or if me messing about with the setting contributed to the solution.

Anyway, I just wanted to offer a different view to those that may have the same issue as me.
In essence, there seemed to be nothing wrong with xbox connecting to the internet, my NAT was open and the appropriate ports were open using UPnP but whatever fix Vodafone support carried did the trick.

I hope that's the issue sorted with the nintendo switch too, if not I'll be posting back in here with an update.

Thanks Vodafone.
