As part of the openreach fibre upgrade, my vodafone broadband got updated today morning by the BT engineer. Its been a couple of hours now. I am still using the original vodafone supplied router THG3000, had a chat with vodafone and they said no need to change the router, just wait an hour or so, then I should have internet. The ONT box has 3 green lights flashing, the alarm light is off. Do I need to change anything on the router ?

Sorry only 1 flashing green light was the LAN. The other 2 green lights were the PON and Power are solid.

Ah, that sounds better, hopefully Vodafone will complete the setup at their end shortly. 🤞

Edit: I think I would be tempted to do a factory reset of the router now, rather than wait till tomorrow.

You could try a factory reset with the recessed button at the back, but activation can happen any time up until midnight. No surprise that they didn't tell you that.

Ah thanks !

No they didn't tell me in the emails, guess I will have to keep an eye on it today.

If it doesn't work tomorrow I will try a reset then

I'm surprised the ONT has flashing green lights, is that how the Openreach engineer left it?

Until they are solid green I doubt anything will work, does the router still work in the original master socket, or do you not have broadband at all?

yh that's how the engineer left it, 3 flashing green lights. Still no internet, I rang vodafone, they said the order was still open and wait for 2 hours or it could be mid night. The agent wasn't sure.

I might try to connect the router to the old master socket, will report back shortly.

connected the router to the old socket, no internet. Reconnected it back to the ont box.

Sorry only 1 flashing green light was the LAN. The other 2 green lights were the PON and Power are solid. Will wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Try the factory reset right now - there may be some old settings 'stuck' in your router as it was used with a different service.

Also, you are now using an Ethernet cable in the WAN port on the router? Not the DSL cable you were using previously.
