Hello,
i currently have fibre 900 and the speeds via ethernet are great. However the wifi lends to dissapointment. I have a super wifi booster and the xbox that is connected to the booster does achieve speeds of 988mbps through ethernet, any wireless device fails to achieve anywhere near this. iPhones, Macbooks etc all have in the region of 300-570mbps max which is still impressive but i do wonder if there are limitations to the vodafone system compared to third party or rival companies. I do know that when im connected to a Virgin Media 900 wifi my phone does get the download speeds.
I am a pro customer and have spoken to wifi xperts who have updated the router and settings but then go on to tell me that it is down to interference yet my booster can deliver the correct download speed over wifi to my xbox!?
Anybody else have this issue? Is it a limitation with wifi5?

Yes I looked at that, looks a good piece of kit. I also got a TPlink RE605X which works as mesh in the bedroom using the OneMesh feature tplink has, i have wired an xbox series s to it via ethernet and now achieved 1018mbps download speed on the xbox. Whereas before I could only get 180mbps max download. I know the router i’ve got has the option for access point mode but I dont use the landline.

Blimey that’s a great speed.. my max download upstairs was similar to yours c. 150mbps. This booster they sent me has increased it to 250 when I place the booster upstairs.
TBH this is a bit all ‘dark arts’ to me. No idea if I should copy your kit , or try the TP deco mesh thing.
i guess as I need my TGH3000 for the landline , the deco mesh kit might ‘look’ a bit better … but I’ve no idea if it will work .
at least I know with your kit .. it works for you. I’d just end up with two ‘big’ routers sat next to each other. Thx for telling me the TO router had an access point mode. I assumed it would 👍

FYI there was a flaw in my earlier testing - I didn't get off the couch to make the test! That meant the signal passing through the flaw and a couple of walls - one of which is substantial. So the fairer test result:
Laptop > AiMesh > Router: 363/101
That's on an AX3000 (2400 + 600) node, but being wedged between a seaport and an airport DFS is a reality here so it's only working at 1200 + 600 max. Being pragmatic the only way to get close to the headline speeds is often to use wired connections - but WiFi is just so much more convenient.

Like the OP I have a macbook (2022) but I'm currently using the UltraHub with Wifi 6e and I get full speed when in the same room as the router (where I generally sit anyway). I previously tested ethernet and got a similar speed . My WAN is limited to 1Gb using the 900Mb service. As you can see I get between 924 and 980Mb downloads and 100Mb upload (I have seen burst speeds over 1Gb for a few seconds according to various speed checkers). I tried my Iphone upstairs and get about 600Mb. So it is possible to get full speed over Wifi with the appropriate kit. Files do down load quickly as well
This is on the 6Ghz band though
