Solution

We have just converted out analog phone to digital. We are still FTTC so the service is provided over the old copper lines. We used to have the house alarm plugged into a phone socket which would call my mobile if the alarm was activated. Of course, this no longer works now that the house phone (a base station) is plugged intoi the router.
I know that BT have a Digital Voice Adaptor that plugs into a power socket and has a socket for an analog phone (or alarm) and communicates wirelessly to a BT hub. But Vodafome claims not to have anything similar. With all UK phone being converted to digital by the end of 2026, this is an issue which will arise very frequently.
Does anyone know of a solution to this - other than having a new alarm system installed!
Thanks

No Vodafone don't have anything similar to the BT voice adapter as the relies on the router having a built-in DECT base station, which the Vodafone routers don't have.
You should be able to continue using you current solution by converting your existing extension wiring to VRI (Voice Re-Injection), but that is a bit more complicated when you are on FTTC, than had you gone over to FTTP.
Try googling Voice Reinjection to see what it involves.

Thanks for your reply - I will investigate voice reinjection.
Unfortunately, FTTP is not yet available in my immediate area, or I would have gone with that in a heartbeat.
