Does the latest Vodafone router support wireless VOIP phones including BT ones ?

So I notice the blurb that the BT voip cordless phone(s) will only work with their smart hub 2 router. Is this true or not really ?

It's true. They connect to a DECT (kind of thing) base built into the BT router. If you need to use the vodafone router your only option is to plug a phone (DECT or otherwise) into the Tel ports on the vodafone router. If you want to use your own router you can get an ATA/Phone that will work with vodafone's digital voice service (this is not supported by Vodafone, but you'll find members here that will help).

Thanks for clarification. That's disappointing but to experience FM quality calls when a friend calls me on their VOIP BT phone .this is still possible with another brand of cordless VOIP phone plugged into a Tel socket on ther voadofone router ?

Not VoIP, but DECT phones yes, they are digital.

I'm not talki8ng about DECT phones which have been around for the last 2 decades and won't give FM quality as VOIP phones do. So there isn't such a device as a cordless VOIP phone to work with any other ISP apart from BT ?

As we said earlier, the BT phones are not VoIP. they are DECT (as far as I can tell, apologies if I am wrong, but I don't think I am). The service is VoIP, same as on Vodafone.

......if you want to keep your landline number. If you get another number with a voip host then yes, a voip phone will work with the vodafone router.
