Landline migrating

Have committed to vodaphone Internet starting end of April. 

Regarding my landline phone I see vodafone takes care of most providers except virginmedia. What do i need to do to transfer my current phone number from VM to vodaphone?

You just need to tick the box to say you want to keep your number. 

Be aware it can't always be guaranteed that the number will be migrated.

You will also need to cancel the Virgin broadband yourself, it probably won't happen automatically.

I ticked the box that says keep your phone number, reading some posts is confusing me a bit. My current landline is connected to virgin's router. 

Does the standard router from VF have a socket for my phone? 

I need to know there will be no hassle with my number cos hospital & medics have my number because of my cancer problems.

Yes the routers (there are 2 at the moment, the THG3000 and the Ultra router supplied with Pro II) have a socket for the phone, but it may require an adapter that should be supplied.

If not losing the phone number is that important to you, then perhaps you may like to think again about moving, Vodafone is likely to assure you it will transfer fine, but personally I think there is a risk.

Hopefully I'm just being over cautious.
