Landline no dial tone

Broadband installed Monday and working perfectly however landline still has no dial tone. I have a green light on the router.  Number was being ported and Virgin disconnected it Monday. Realistically how long should I wait for connection?

Which router do you have? If the phone LED is illuminated, then it should be working.

How are you connecting the phone to the router?
