Hello,
Around 1 month ago I helped my father in law switch from BT (copper) to Vodafone (fibre) broadband and landline and to transfer his telephone number from BT.
He was told it could take up to 14 days for the landline to become active.
It only took a few days for him to be able to call out.
Now here is the problem, when I call him from my landline which is VM or mobile which is EE we get “you’ve dialled an incorrect number”.
He’s rang Vodafone a few times and live chat and they’ve been attempting to send out adaptors etc but he can call out absolutely fine.
Today I called him (to mobile) and he said that they’ve received a call from Vodafone engineer to their landline and actually had a few spam calls to their landline.
That got my thinking, so I called their landline from my work phone which is Vodafone and aha it rings… I then got my mother to call them from her landline (she has Vodafone broadband and telephone) and it rings!
So essentially the situation is as follows
Vodafone mobile/landline to their Vodafone landline = WORKS
Any other network landline or mobile to their Vodafone landline = DOES NOT WORK
Their Vodafone landline calling OUT to any number = WORKS
When they call out from their Vodafone landline it is CONFIRMED that it’s calling out from their old BT number.
What on earth is going on? What does he need to say to live chat like keywords etc. This issue has been ongoing for way too long.
It is evident it’s nothing to do with adaptors, cables, phones and in my opinion is 100% a Vodafone issue.
Just to add his broadband is perfect!

Hi,
It seems like there’s an issue with number porting or routing on Vodafone’s end. When the landline was transferred from BT, there might be a fault in the systems handling calls from non-Vodafone networks, possibly due to incomplete number porting. The number is likely not fully activated or correctly mapped for cross-network calls.
Hope! it help to you.

I have a similar problem. Just posted under name EVEPAGE. I can't receive calls to my landline phone from BT landlines, the caller gets a message 'Number not recognised'. As far as I can tell, landlines with any other provider can get through, and all mobiles can get through..
I've talked to Vodafone who say it's BT's problem, and to BT who say it's Vodaphone's problem. What to do now? I think it's a universal problem and I may contact my MP about it.
