Remote access to phone messages - FTTP

Hi Folks.

Hope someone can help me with this query. We switched to VF some 9 months ago and ported over our landline. Pretty much works as expected and I know that there are no added services such as voicemail, etc currently if it's a digital voice connection.

We're on the 910 up and down package (Pro II Full Fibre?)

We've got a Panasonic Digital phone and as a phone it works fine. No issues with incoming or outgoing calls now that it's plugged into the router - except one thing.

Because there's no voicemail facility from VF (yet?) VF advised us to use the answerphone built into the phone and that seems to work EXCEPT if we try and access the messages remotely. According to the Panasonic manual, you 'wait until you hear the greeting and then tap in your three digit code'. Trouble is, when I do that, NOTHING happens.. the greeting keeps on playing almost as if it's not picking up the input of digits.

I know the code is correct and wondered f maybe it just doesn't work in a scenario like mine where the phone plugs into the router? Or am I missing something obvious? Tried a few times now, but no luck. OK we're mostly at home these days, so it's not a dealbreaker, but it would be kinda nice if I could access any left messages when I'm out and about.

Cheers, Steve

Vodafone's network doesn't support DTMF (keypad tones) so although you can hear them on the dialling phone they don't make it through to your panasonic. We can only keep our fingers crossed, but so far they've been crossed for at least 2 years for a lot of us.

Thanks Ripshod. Good to know that I'm not going nuts this end (well, I might be, but not with regard to DTMF tones!) 😉. Appreciate the quick reply. Let's hope a proper voicemail facility arrives before too long.
